Dr. Damon Dagnone
MD, FRCPC, MSc, MMEd
Dr. J Damon Dagnone is Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Queen’s University and Director, Standards and Accreditation at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
At Queen’s University, he is the lead of the EM junior resuscitation rounds and EM transition to practice (TTP) curriculums and works with PGME leaders on educational and research initiatives related to competency based medical education (CBME).
As Director of Standards and Accreditation at the Royal College, Damon is immersed in the training standards and accreditation oversight for over 100 national specialty disciplines across >20 institutions within Canada and internationally. He is also the lead for the Competence by Design initiative and chairs the national Steering committee for the updated CanMEDS framework launching at ICRE in 2026.

When not in the ER, on ZOOM meetings, or exercising outdoors, Damon can be found enjoying his family at home & at his cottage.
